Brand strategy and positioning
Who are you promising what, and where do you differ from competitors? Audience, promise, values and a positioning statement are put in writing. Every visual decision then flows from it.
A logo isn't a brand — it's just its most visible part. We build the whole system, from strategy to guidelines.
A brand identity is more than the sum of a name, a colour and a typeface. It's a consistent system that lets customers recognise you, remember you and tell you apart from your competitors. When that system is incomplete, every new poster, page and post has to be designed from scratch.
At Mallow Studio we treat brand identity as infrastructure rather than a deliverable. Because the same team builds the website, the app and the ad film, the identity doesn't stay on paper — it gets applied to the working product.
Below you'll find the components a brand identity should contain, item by item, followed by example identity kits by sector.
Mallow Studio runs brand identity projects from zero: brand strategy and positioning, naming and tone of voice, logo and its variations, colour palette, typography system, icon and graphic language, photography direction, motion language, print and digital applications, and a delivered brand guide. The same team then applies the identity to the website and the ad film.
A distinct character for every sector and every idea. From colour and type to interfaces and motion, we design it all together.
Mallow: Digital products & creative brands
These twelve items are what we deliver when building a brand identity from zero. We narrow or widen the scope per project, but the order stays the same, because each step rests on the one before it.
Who are you promising what, and where do you differ from competitors? Audience, promise, values and a positioning statement are put in writing. Every visual decision then flows from it.
The name, tagline, description sentence and how the brand speaks — with "we write like this, not like that" examples, so the brand sounds the same whoever writes.
Primary logo, horizontal and vertical lockups, symbol only, single-colour and negative versions. Each made for a different context: business card, signage, app icon, social profile.
Primary, secondary and neutral colours with HEX, RGB and CMYK values. Accessible contrast ratios are checked, so text stays readable on every background.
Display and body typefaces, weights, line heights and scale — with licences and file formats ready to be self-hosted on the web.
A custom icon set, stroke weight, corner softness, patterns and texture. These are the details that keep a brand recognisable even when the logo isn't visible.
Which photography is used and which isn't: lighting, framing, colour grading and a sample set — including criteria for choosing stock imagery.
How the logo resolves, how fast transitions run and which easing curves are used, so the ad film, the website and social videos share one rhythm.
Business cards, letterheads, stamps, folders, packaging, signage and vehicle livery — whatever you need, as print-ready files.
Website interface, social media templates, email signature, presentation template and app UI. This is where an identity actually proves itself.
Every rule collected in one document: dos and don'ts, sizes and clear-space rules. Your brand stays intact even if you work with another agency later.
Vector logo files, colour profiles, font licences and editable templates. All handed to you — never locked inside our systems.
We study your business, your customers and your competitors, and audit your existing materials and your sector's visual habits.
We prepare two or three visual directions. Each is presented as a mood board with a colour, typography and tone proposal.
We turn the chosen direction into a logo, palette, typography, icons and graphic language, testing every component on real applications.
We collect the rules in a brand guide and hand over the source files. If you like, we apply the identity to your website and ad film ourselves.
These kits are representative works, made to show how a brand identity shifts to meet the expectations of each sector.
You can, but we don't recommend it. On its own, a logo falls apart on the first social post because there's no colour and type system behind it. If budget is tight we suggest a core set — strategy, logo, colour and typography — and add the remaining components later.
A core set usually takes a few weeks; comprehensive work including all print and digital applications takes a few months. We share a clear timeline after the discovery call.
Yes, and it's a common request. We keep your logo and build the colour, typography, icon and application system around it, fixing the logo only technically where needed (vectorising, spacing and sizing corrections).
Yes. Vector logo files, colour profiles and editable templates are handed to you once the project is paid for. Font licences are purchased in your name from the relevant foundry.
Yes, and we see it as our biggest advantage — you don't need a second agency. The team that designs the identity is the same team that codes the website and produces the ad film.
